Problems Common to Defective Hip Implants
DePuy Orthopaedics, a division of Johnson & Johnson, recalled ASR hip implants in August of 2010. Two models, the ASR XL Acetabular System and ASR Hip Resurfacing System were part of the recall. Defects of these implants include a shallow artificial cup and metal-on-metal construction of the artificial joint.
